What You Will Hear – On Being Firmly Planted in Christ

This episode of Where Faith Grows is all about being firmly planted in Christ. Mikella Van Dyke has such a beautiful story of continually being transplanted both physically and spiritually throughout her life. She shares it all today on the show and shares how these experiences shaped her view about being planted in Christ, and about how to actually achieve that firm planting in our own faith.

I was so excited to chat with Mikella today, because I love her ministry, Chasing Sacred! She teaches women to study the Bible through inductive Bible study, and you will definitely hear that teacher side of her today as she walks us through key verses and passages about being firmly planted in our walks of faith. You’re going to love it! I learned so much today and I just know you will as well.

No matter what you are walking through or what you have walked through, I think we can all relate to the feeling of being transplanted or replanted in our lives, whether in a physical, emotional, or spiritual way. Change in our lives is inevitable, and Mikella covers these feelings too with such honesty and joy. Mikella has such a beautiful story of being transplanted over and over again, only to find that her true identity never shifted from its core in Christ. She sheds so much wisdom on the word of God in this episode – you’re going to feel like you’re getting a really good sermon out of this one!

About Mikella

Chasing Sacred started as Mikella Van Dyke’s outlet to write and share what God was teaching her through her time in the Word. Mikella had recently transitioned into married life, moved from NYC where she was pursuing a dance career, and left her upbringing in Thailand as a Third Culture Kid. The myriad of transitions left her with only ONE choice to chase God first and foremost over all else.

From the author of the blog and Instagram account, Chasing Sacred, comes a woman’s one-stop-shop for sound theology and Christian community.

What started as a devotional blog quickly evolved into teaching women how to study the Bible.

Chasing Sacred is a ministry that offers truth-based resources for those that want to take their Faith seriously through sound theology, and Inductive Bible Study. The Chasing Sacred team has now grown in order to provide resources to women from and through every walk of life.

“When I think of replanting or transplanting I think of a pivotal moment where God takes what you had sunk your roots deep into as your main identity factor: whether it was where you lived, the job you loved, the friends you most cherished, your health, your physical fitness and shakes you at the roots. Something causes an upheaval and you can no longer make that your security. He replants you in His Word.” - quote from Mikella Van Dyke for Where Faith Grows podcast episode 024 - hosted by Laura Lambert, Christian podcaster and speaker.
“Scripture is a lifeline for all of us and it never returns void and always changes the heart when we surrender obediently to the word of God.” - quote from Mikella Van Dyke for Where Faith Grows podcast episode 024 - this podcast is hosted by Laura Lambert, Christian podcaster and speaker.
